Too bestial for words
Our country is very active in the field of CITES – in full: Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. In the struggle for the conservation of global biodiversity, this autumn the Dutch government organized an intensive campaign against illegal trade in exotic animal and plant species. It received the appropriate name of Pangolin – the scaly animal that is threatened with extinction in both Africa and Asia. With well-focused monitoring, including that of luggage and courier shipments, Dutch Customs has also been involved in the campaign. A short but very informative video impression (only in Dutch) was made of the activities of the cooperating partners and is being shared via social media. Click on the image below to watch the video.
