King opens Joint Inspection Centre
The Joint Inspection Centre entered service at Schiphol Amsterdam Airport on 22 November. King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands officially opened the location, which is seen as the jewel in the crown of the Schiphol SmartGate Cargo public-private programme. Various government agencies perform joint and simultaneous consignment inspections, as a result of which cargo is dealt with faster, more efficiently and safer. As part of the festive visit by the head of state to the site, a video was shown explaining the ins and outs of the JIC concept. Click on the image below to view the video.
